Happy Thursday everyone!! Today I wanted to share a blog post I have been asked about frequently and that is what are Brayden’s favorite things… or should I say, what are some of my favorite things for him hahahah. So Brayden will officially be 5 months old next Tuesday (time PLEASE SLOW DOWN!) . He is such a happy boy and has really started showing his little personality in the past month. Every single morning when he wakes up he is smiling and so happy and it makes my morning!!
I get asked often if I am still pumping/breastfeeding and I am still solely pumping between 5-6 times a day for 20 minutes and so far Brayden has not had to supplement with formula. I still have not mastered sleeping through the night without pumping so I try to make it the last thing I do around 10pm at night and then push it to 4 or 4:30am so I get at least 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep (from pumping that is 🙂 ) Brayden is sleeping through the night with help…. I say with help because he is still beside the bed in a pack n play sleeping in his dock-a-tot. I have tried to remove the dock-a-tot and he doesn’t sleep because he moves around too much! I am convinced he likes the ‘snugness’ of the dock-a-tot and I don’t know what we would do without it. He will start to cry in the night, almost like sleep crying if that’s a thing and I will put his pacifier in and he goes back to sleep. This typically happens like 3-4 times throughout the night, but he falls asleep after getting his paci. He typically goes down around 9:30pm and gets up at 7:30 with no feedings in between.
Brayden is a BIG eater! He went from the 25% in weight at his 2 month appointment to the 78% by his 4 month! He eats basically 6.5 – 7oz of milk every 3 hours 5 times a day. He has not had rice cereal or oatmeal yet, we are trying to hold off on any food or fillers until 6 months, but whatever works for you all, DO IT! A fed baby is a happy baby!
Brayden is still working on his neck control… tummy time is not his favorite, but we do it and he’s almost there 🙂 He is OBSESSED with his Baby Einstein Ocean Discover Jumper! If you follow me on Instastory he is ALWAYS jumping around in this and he is still able to do it without all of his neck control! I also love it because of all the colors and toys on it!
Brayden still loves his Boppy Infant Lounger (Under $30)! This has been a product that has stuck with us EVERY day since he was born! Its the best for taking him around the house with me!
When I get ready in the mornings Brayden loves to lay on THIS Fisher Price Deluxe Piano Mat . This mat was a gift from one of my sweet friends at our baby shower and it has been one of his absolute favorites for tummy time and just to learn! He is now trying to and actually grabbing all the toys on it!
If Brayden gets tired of laying on his back while I take a shower or get dressed he LOVES to get in THIS Fisher Price Rocker Under $50! He loves the toys hanging down and could literally stare at them forever! On the days I have to put on makeup and curl my hair (45 minute process) he entertains himself in this rocker!!
One of Brayden’s newest favorite things is his 4Moms MamaRoo. This item is pricey and honestly for the first 3 months he was not a huge fan, but now he’s obsessed! This is one item I can put him in (he loves car ride mode on level 5) and I can get some work done… like writing this post 🙂
If there is one luxury item I would splurge on, its the Uppababy Vista stroller! This stroller is a DREAM! Brayden can go from crying and very upset to totally calm being pushed around in his bassinet and stroller! I am so thankful for this stroller and it’s so easy to pack away!
As far as carseats go, Brayden has grown out of his infant insert in his Nuna Pipa Lite LX Carseat, which almost made me cry and he loves this seat! This carseat only weighs a little over 5 lbs. so it really helps with his over 17 lb. body in it for me to carry alone!
Brayden LOVES the como tomo bottles! These bottles are easy to heat and I love them as well! They are supposed to be similar to breastfeeding and he never had a problem latching on!
We bathe Brayden almost ever night, just as a ritual before his last bottle to calm him down and he LOVES the water! I use this little Angelcare ‘tub’ in my large tub to bath him and we love the Noodle & Boo body wash!
A few little toys we always have with us are these:
Fluffy Tails Book (is crunchy and he likes to play with it)
Baby Gund Flappy Ears Elephant (he loves watching it flip its ears)
Ryan & Rose Paci Clip (get asked often about these!)
Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes ( BEST GIFT Under $10 – he’s obsessed!)
Jellycat Dog Lovie – we got him this and he loves to hold it when we ride; it makes him feel secure!)
LaMaze Giraffe – the colors of his feet and the tassels, he could stare at this toy ALL DAY and it rattles!
