This weekend I had the opportunity to do a quick photo session with one of my favorite Raleigh photographers, Christopher Nieto! We shot some amazing Valentine’s Day looks that will be coming to the blog this week and the next few weeks and I’m super excited to share them with you all!
This time of year in NC it’s so hard to know what we are going to be wearing day in and out because the weather varies by 30 degrees on the regular. This year, I have invested in capes and ponchos! A good cape is a layering essential! This cape caught my eye a few weeks back and I knew I had to have it at $32! The yellow pockets on this cape really set it apart and the colorblock is perfect for the winter and continuing on into the spring! You can pair this cape with a black long sleeve top or even a tank top! Just a size reference on this cape, it does run larger, I have a small and I am a size 4/6.
I paired my cape with my continual obsession, the Lysse faux leather leggings. I honestly wear these leggings a minimum of twice a week because they take my basic everyday outfit to the next level! These leggings do fit true to size I have a small and I’m a 4/6, if that helps!
Also, on a total other note, I went and saw The Revenant this past Friday night and if you have not seen it yet, GO!! Leonardo DiCaprio was unmatched and he is so deserving of an Oscar for this performance. If you have seen it what did you think?! If you go see it let me know your thoughts!

Agree with the cape for crazy up and down weather. I also saw the Revenant and thought it was awesome!! Such beautiful imagery and of course the story was so motivating. I kept thinking to myself the whole time “I’m so lucky to have been born in this era.”
