California Dreaming in Laguna Beach

 

Sun… I had almost forgotten what it felt like! This week, my husband had a work meeting in Dana Point, California (near Laguna Beach) so thankfully I got to tag along and enjoy the beautiful weather! The temperatures were in the 80’s when we arrived on Tuesday and then continued on for the remainder of the week in the mid 70’s and I couldn’t get enough! California is such a fun and different place! Everyone is so laid back, kids are going to surf with their dad’s in the middle of the day and it seems like a clock doesn’t exist! It was so refreshing to reset and have some amazing weather for a few days!

On Wednesday when my husband was in his meetings all day, I and another wife on the trip made our way to Laguna Beach! I never really didn’t watch the reality show Laguna Beach, but I’m obsessed with Lauren Conrad so I was excited to see the area the show as filmed in.  My friend had been in California for a few days and makes frequent trips, so she suggested the absolute cutest brunch spot that overlooked the sparkling ocean! If you are ever in Laguna you must try Driftwood Kitchen.  I started brunch off with an amazing fresh drink called the “Black and Blue” with blueberries and blackberries and sparkling wine.  We then went on to order and I got the egg white omelette with fresh spinach, cheese, fresh tomatoes and I added bacon (you can’t go wrong with bacon 😉 ).  My friend got the eggs benedict and I did have a little food envy! If you like or even don’t like eggs benedict (I’ve never been a huge fan) this dish was OUT OF THE WORLD! If I go back, the eggs benedict will be my choice, it was so buttery and warm with the mix of salt and savory!

After brunch we made our way downtown Laguna where there are endless quaint shops and art galleries! We had the absolute best time and I did find some amazing local fashion boutiques where I ended up getting this pair of AG capri’s that I couldn’t resist!

For the fun relaxed day, I chose an adorable off-the-shoulder blue and white romper! This romper is so fun and easy! I love a romper because it’s a whole outfit in one! This one I really love because it isn’t tight around my legs and doesn’t ride up! I will be wearing this romper a ton this year! It even had the cutest rope belt detailing! This romper can be used as both an outfit and coverup this summer!

I paired my romper with my go-to Sam Edelman ‘Yardley’ pump that I will be wearing on repeat all Spring and Summer! I know I said it in the last post, but these shoes are so adorable and comfy! I can’t tell you the number of people who stopped to ask where I got them.  I also linked this intricate Rebecca Minkoff ‘Sofia’ bag in my last outfit post, but I am going to link it here as well! This bag makes any outfit! I had a lady on the street in Laguna run over to ask where it came from, she just loved the details with the tassels and all of the vibrant colors! As I mentioned, this bag comes in three different colors and all three are amazing!
