Keepsake The Label / Mara Hoffman Floral Dress / Sam Edelman ‘Yardley’ Pump
Wedding Season is in full swing and this year I have been looking for fun yet occasion appropriate wedding guest attire. I don’t know if it is just me, but I have been torn with what is wedding “appropriate” anymore. I’m not that old, but even 5 years ago I never saw other people wearing white or red to weddings, but now everything is changing. I am still AGAINST WHITE for weddings, unless you are the bride 🙂 So, for weddings I have tried patterns, color, lace, neutrals pretty much everything and anything. I am a huge fan of all things color and patterns, maybe it’s because I am a true southern girl at heart, or I just love bright colors but either way my closet looks like a rainbow exploded! My husband makes comments about all the color when he walks into my closet and I quickly escort him out and shut my doors hahah In all seriousness staples are not my forte. I would much rather buy a fun new print than a solid neutral, but the older I get the more I realize how much wear I actually get out of my “basics.”
Basics are “basics” for a reason and that is why you can never go wrong with the perfect little black or navy dress. They truly are versatile and perfect for numerous occasions. One of my great friends, Sarah got married a few weekends ago and in preparation for her wedding I went on a search for “that perfect” dress. I had first picked out a floral cutout dress, I have linked here because it still haunts me in my sleep ;), but when I asked my sister she quickly reminded me that it looked very similar to everything I own. I can hear her now,” you need something more basic, something that is pretty but not flashy and full of color.” I knew she was right so I kept on searching and when I found this dress I was immediately drawn to it!
Lace makes a statement without shouting “look at me!” There is something so elegant and classic about lace and it is always in style! This Keepsake the Label ‘Say My Name” dress was sold out in every size, but mine when I purchased it, so of course I thought it was FATE and I HAD to get it! This dress keeps selling out and coming back so I have linked it through multiple retailers who each offer different size options. I wanted to make sure I could link most sizes. So here is the link to Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Revolve Clothing and Zappos (only in the silver/grey). The asymmetrical lace hemline is unlike any dress I have ever seen! I love that the under layer is long enough when I sit down and that it doesn’t get too short! I did order a size Medium in this dress and I am a US6 most of the time in my hip area. I am glad I did go with the larger size, I have a few things from this brand and I usually go up one size if I am in between and that always works for me. I paired this dress with my Sam Edelman ‘Yardley’ pump that has now come out in platinum gold for the summer and I know you all are tired of seeing this shoe, but it’s the best one I have this season!
All of my accessories are from local Raleigh boutique, The Local Squirrel in Cameron Village Shopping Center. You all should totally check them out as my sister has her artwork for sale in this store as well!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and are getting back into the swing of things, I know it has been hard for me! Have a wonderful week lovelies and thank you so much for stopping by! Lots of Love!
