A FOUNDATION THAT HAS LITERALLY ROCKED MY WORLD ALONG WITH SOME OTHER FAVS

 

Ok, so I haven’t had a chance to photograph it or take (that many) selfies in it, but HELLO URBAN DECAY ALL NIGHTER FOUNDATION!!! All of you probably know that I am a Tarte Amazonian Clay girl and have been for at least 4 years!  I am the type of person who finds something I love and I stick with it because I’m too scared to try something new and waste money on a product I’m unsure about.  This week my friend Gaby came to work raving about a brand new foundation, the Urban Decay All Nighter and her face seriously had never looked better! It just so happened that I was running low on foundation and heading to the mall that very day and so I told her I was going to try it! I will be honest, I was SUPER SKEPTICAL because as I said, the Tarte Amazonian Clay had been the holy grail of foundations for my skin!  Well… ya’ll this was a post I couldn’t even wait to photograph because I AM OBSESSEDDDD!!!!!! I firmly believe if you find a product that you love, you SHARE and so this week on my snapchat I have been posting the foundation and had NUMEROUS questions! So here’s what I have found! This foundation is more smooth and sets MATTE!! I seriously have not had to put ANY powder, not even translucent powder on top of my skin to set this foundation! I literally put one pump on the back of my hand and apply with a damp beauty blender.  This foundation does dry somewhat quickly so once you apply it to your skin go ahead and start blending.  The finish is MATTE!! I have NEVER had an foundation so smooth and then set as a powder.  Yesterday I had a photoshoot first thing in the morning and by the time I usually finish and get to work my T-Zone is already a little oily, well I did not get oily at all the entire day and had spent the morning in humidity outside!

As far as color matching goes, this foundation has colors in numbers.  The .0 means more yellow undertones and the .5 has a slight pink undertone.  So basically each number will be for example 1 & 1.5 (basically the same color with different undertones).  I went to Sephora to get matched and Gaby who has beautiful yellow toned skin had told me she was color 4.5, which seemed a little odd because it was said to have more pink undertones, so when I went in I thought I would be a 4 or 5 (I typically steer clear of pink undertoned makeup).  I purchased the 5 and then realized that there was a lady who would perfectly match, so for fear that I had chosen the wrong color I ran over to her and she matched me as the 4.5!  I thought it was crazy that both Gaby and I were the 4.5 and have drastically different skin tones! The 4.5 has a VERY SLIGHT pink undertone, not like typical makeup that shows the pink clearly…. This foundation color is perfect for medium/tan skin.  My friend Jill also went to purchase yesterday and she was also 4.5, so basically if you have somewhat tan skin thats a good place to start if you can not get into a Sephora or Ulta to be matched.  I don’t change products often and I would not be writing this post right now without images if I did not FIRMLY believe that this foundation will CHANGE YOUR SKIN!!! Four of my friends have purchased this foundation since Tuesday and EVERYONE LOVESSSS it, so definitely think about it!

While in Sephora (you know I can’t just go all the way there and not get a few things 😉 ) I also broke down and purchased probably the BEST powder in the WORLD (seriously) the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder.  This powder was one that has been on my list for a month! It seriously will match ALL skin tones and subtly blurs the look of fine lines like NONE other. I am using this powder now to set my under eye concealer, which is currently the Trish McEvoy Instant Eye Lift. The powder DOES NOT settle in the fine lines under my eye as many translucent powders can and it does blur everything! My under eyes had been looking a little cakey, but not they look brighter, refreshed and more youthful and nothing has changed other than this.

The last thing I got on my “quick” trip to Sephora was the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Blur Primer.  This primer is something that I have been looking at for a long time and did not want to spend the money on! To be honest, I have been going without primer recently because I just did not want to spend the extra money on it! The primer claims to be an illuminating primer that blurs imperfections and boosts the radiance of foundation!  This product has little golden shimmer inside and is supposed to brighten the skin! So I put this primer to the test and the next day I walked into work and without saying anything, my co-worker said exact words, “You are GLOWING!”  Ya’ll this product with ONE application minimized my pores and fine lines around my eyes! My skin has honestly never looked so young! I have been sleeping less and running around more and had started to notice fine lines around my eyes on the side I was sleeping, but they are GONE and my sleeping habits have not changed! This primer is WORTH THE SPLURGE!!!

I bought all of these products on Tuesday, but they have seriously changed my skin OVERNIGHT! I promise to have some photos up soon with the an up close look, but I figured some of you may be out and about shopping this weekend and would love to pick these up in-store as well!
