Picture it: Saturday night, music playing, grilling with friends and playing CHICKAPIG! Ok, so you’re not alone if you haven’t heard of the GREATEST GAME EVER, that is FINALLY able to be purchased on KICKSTARTER , but I am so excited to share it with you all! Today’s post is one I have been PATIENTLY waiting to share since I first laid eyes on the cutest little figurines ever, the CHICKAPIG!
The story of Chickapig began for me when I went with my husband to custom guitar shop, Rockbridge Guitar in Charlottesville, VA and met owner/creator of some of the most intricate guitars ever, Brian Calhoun. If you play guitar or know someone who does, YOU NEED TO CHECK HIM OUT! Back to CHICKAPIG, as I was sitting in Brian’s living room and noticed the cutest little animal figurines, I was so intrigued and immediately ran over to the cute little guys and asked what they were!
Aren’t these little dudes amazing?!? After my enthusiasm about the little creatures subsided, Brian began telling us about his concept version of this fun game and showed us how to play! It was crazy how a trip to design a guitar did a complete 180 degree turn andwe ended up spending a lot of time engrossed in this brilliant new game! I am always up for something new and fun and this game was that and so CUTE! I have a HUGE family and finding something to play or keep us occupied is often a challenge, but not anymore! Brian had dreamed this game up with his wife and for years had been playing with sketches, cutting out cardboard images to make the characters and game come alive and playing with friends and family to see if the concept would work and it has! Brian also partnered with one of his great friends, whom you may have all heard of, Dave Matthews, from the Dave Matthews Band who immediately took an interest in this fun game and even helped with the awesome graphics!!
