Happy Halloween Ya’ll!! I hope your night is filled with lots of the “good” candy and fun! Who else loved going Trick or Treating as a child and getting to the house that gave all the Snickers, Butterfingers and my favorite… REESE CUPS!!! As a child my siblings and I knew who’s house was the scariest, had the Mary Janes and Dum Dums and then those few houses that had the “Good Stuff!” My favorite costume when I was a child was a cat… I’m not sure why, but almost every year I wanted to be one! As an adult my favorite costume became Elsa from Frozen (but really!) I love dressing up I will just be honest! I know that may sound childish, but there is something about putting on a costume and trying new makeup that’s so fun to me! This year I had the best of intentions of painting my face like a skeleton, but I was traveling all week last week and honestly, I was just too exhausted! I have finally accepted the fact that I am almost 28 and can’t physically go HARD every day 😉 So my Saturday night which was supposed to be spent at an amazing party turned out to be one filled with lots of carbs, candy and an entire night spent at my parents house watching scary movies on REPEAT! We watched Amityville Horror and The Others! What did you all do?!? Did you dress up and if so what were you?!?
Today’s post is FULL of PUMPKINS and all the Halloween and Fall feels! Last week I was in Dallas, TX with my sister and mom for Dallas clothing market for her clothing line Anna Cate Collection that is hitting retailers Spring/Summer 2017! The week was super busy, but I had researched some fun things to do and see and the Dallas Arboretum at Halloween was on the top of the list! The minute I saw there were houses made of pumpkins I HAD to go!! Unfortunately, the arboretum is only open during work day hours from 9am – 5pm, but my mom and I quickly went one morning at 9am when they opened just to peek at it before we went to market and I am so glad that we did; It was pumpkin heaven!!! There were so many pumpkins everywhere! Pumpkins on stakes, pumpkins on hay bails and pumpkins on top of other pumpkins!! I was OBSESSED! It seriously felt like a fairytale land. There were families coming in for their annual photos and it was clear to see why! The amount of time it took to create was unimaginable! I hope you all enjoyed the pictures above! A picture couldn’t capture all the details, but needless to say if you go you HAVE to see it! I did see where they were setting up veiled exhibits of the 12 days of Christmas so I know it will be beautiful then as well!
My pumpkin patch outfit was strategically planned with the rust orange sweater and black moto leggings! My sweater is so incredibly comfy and so affordable at $59 and it also comes in green! I paired it with my newest legging purchase by David Lerner the microsuede legging with awesome detailing around the knees! These leggings are a staple for your closet for Fall and Winter and they are a great thickness and weight! I love that they are high rise and you can eat everything you want and still look “smooth.” My boots are the Schutz ‘Barnis’ bootie that I have blogged a few times, but they are my latest and greatest OBSESSION that I can not take off! I wore these boots every day in Dallas! I paired them with dresses and leggings both and they are so comfy! My bag was the Botkier Clinton Fringe Bag that is also a great Christmas gift idea! My scarf is one I purchased last year and it came back again this year and it’s under $30.
Speaking of Christmas I spent the weekend starting an entire Christmas shop for you all to help get some ideas flowing for every area of your life!! There is a shop for ladies (or yourself 😉 ) and that one is full of everything I am obsessed with personally! I created a Christmas shop for under $100 items, for soon to be mothers/current moms, the beauty or makeup lover and one for that special man or men in your life! All of these are not final, I am just getting started, but Christmas is 55 days away!!! So stay tuned for some of my favorites! I am even planning to “interview” my husband, brothers and Dad to see some items they would like to make the men’s shop even better!
I hope you all have a Spooktacular Halloween! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day filled with KitKats, Reeses, Snickers and Butterfingers (and don’t feel guilty one time 😉 ) XOXOXO
