Today I turn 28 years old… Oh my goodness where does the time go?!?!? I am sitting here thinking about my last 28 years on this earth and I realize how truly blessed I am! God blessed me with the absolute most amazing parents, siblings, husband, in laws, friends and Christian home! When I think back about all of the precious memories I have they all have something to do with FAMILY and FRIENDS! Today I thought it would be fitting to share 28 pieces of advice or tips that I have personally learned. I hope you all enjoy!
28 Pieces of Advice/ Tips:
- Put God first and accept HIM as your personal Lord & Savior (this is THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISION YOU WILL EVER MAKE; it affects your ETERNITY!)
- Love your spouse and put them 2nd after Christ
- Don’t compare yourself to others (or at least try your hardest not to)
- Remember YOU are created in the Image of God and you are Perfect in Every Way
- Put your phone down during dinner and enjoy those around you (I tell myself this often)
- Realize happiness comes from relationships, not things
- Call your grandparents if you still have them (it means more to them than you will know)
- Follow your DREAMS (you will have bump ups and WANT TO STOP, but keep pushing forward; anything worth having is worth working for and NOTHING WORTH HAVING COMES FREE OR EASY)
- Eat the cake (or in my case the cookies 😉 )
- Compliment someone every day (or maybe two or three)
- Be the person you want to be friends with
- Don’t waste your time on jealousy. Sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind. The race is long and, in the end, it’s only with yourself (from the Sunscreen song, but I think about this phrase OFTEN)
- Be NICE to others, you never know what someone else is facing and you may be the only Brightness they see in a day
- Exercise (It is the best way to relieve stress and your mind)
- Celebrate Others Accomplishments (it is not a competition)
- Wear sunscreen and stay OUT of the tanning bed ( I should have listened to my Mom)
- TRAVEL (you will never regret seeing new places and some of my most fond memories I have are from my travels)
- Be spontaneous (I am NOT the type of person who just “goes with it” but the rare moments when I do are amazing)
- Be Trustworthy
- SMILE
- DANCE (even if you don’t know how)
- BE ON TIME ( the other person’s time is worth just as much as yours)
- Don’t worry about the future. Or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum – Sunscreen Song
- Invest Time in People, not Things
- Don’t be Scared to Be Different – none of us are the same and that’s what makes the world such a beautiful place
- Forgive those who have hurt you (forgiveness allows you to move on; harboring resentment only hurts YOU and makes you Bitter)
- Don’t put off tasks you have time for today (tomorrow is not guaranteed)
- Don’t allow what someone says about you to define you, YOU can be anything you set your mind to be (I hope this makes sense ; ))
Most of all, ENJOY LIFE! God put us all here for a reason and He has a plan for each and every one of us on this earth! As children of Him we are called to win souls for His Kingdom and be HIS LIGHT on this earth! Remember that EACH DAY IS A GIFT and spend your time wisely and with those whom you love and who loves you! Be YOURSELF, there is no one better for the job (it sounds cheesy, but so true). How sad would the world be if we were all the same and had the same talents?!? I am beyond grateful for each and every one of YOU who make what I do possible! You all have made my DREAM come true with all of your amazing love and support and I can never repay you, but know that I sincerely mean it when I say, “Thank You!” Each one of you have impacted my life in such a tremendous way and I hope that I have yours! During this time of Christmas and ALL YEAR, I am so blessed to have you all! I hope that each and every one of you has a wonderful day! I Love YOU ALL!! XOXOX
