Hey ya’ll! Today I wanted to finally sit down and recap fashion week (or long weekend for me!) My sister and I flew out last Thursday to NYC to have a girl’s weekend mixed with a few meetings! I didn’t over plan this weekend just because I wanted some time to relax and enjoy the big city!! New York is one of those city’s I have a love hate relationship with… I know, I know that’s taboo to say in the fashion industry, but NY is such a hustle and bustle that this small town country girl gets OVERWHELMED QUICKLY! I wish I could say I LOVED the city, but I am a true southern country girl at heart and LOVE the open fields and grass! Ok, enough of that and on to our girls’ weekend! We began the trip by checking in at the Maritime Hotel in Chelsea New York. Chelsea is in the meat packing district of NY where all of my meetings and events were held. The hotel is made to feel like you are almost on a cruise ship with large round windows. The aesthetic is really cute, but the room was a tad small. My sister and I shared a room and bed, but it was totally doable! I would recommend this hotel if you are trying to be near soho, china town or meat packing. The real reason I chose this hotel was because two events I was attending, one for Lidl and the other from RewardStyle (liketoknow.it) were held in the restaurant inside the hotel, La Sirena!
Day 1 Consisted of heading over to the Shopbop Event! Ok, so this was one of my most exciting moments as SHOPBOP IS ONE OF MY TOP FAVORITE RETAILERS!! Shopbop knows how to throw a party!!! When we walked in we took a quick snap before heading in below:
As we made our way in we were greeted with all the fun new Fall arrivals, a stunning GOLDEN flower wall and a life size swing you could swing in and be covered in Fall leaves! It was incredible! There were beautiful golden cocktails with rock candy and chips dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with gold dust! If you haven’t noticed the GOLD theme here I wanted to say they were ‘subtly’ but not so ‘subtly’ hinting that the trending Fall color was marigold or yellow! Shopbop let you create pins with your own personal charms on them and beanies with pom pom fur balls! They also had an entire section of their event space dedicated to adopting puppies! I thought this was the sweetest thing ever! I will be sharing some of the trends I saw at the show in later blog posts… so stay tuned!
That evening we enjoyed an amazing cocktail hour with Lidl at a chocolate wine bar with other blogger friends to celebrate the launch of the Heidi Klum Esmara clothing line which hits stores TOMORROW (stay tuned for tomorrows post!) . Heidi Klum had a runway show with Lidl to showcase all of the looks on Thursday, but I was unable to attend do to prior commitments. After cocktail hour we headed to La Sirena for a 5 course dinner that was to die for! If you all come to NY, La Sirena is wonderful!
The next day I headed to the Rewardstyle Rooftop Party at Hotel Rivington and enjoyed time with all of the amazing bloggers I love! I then went over to the Liketoknow.it ‘HEART WALL’ which is still in NYC Until first of October on Ludlow St. for a photo op! If you are headed to NYC it’s definitely a must stop for a photo op!
The following day we headed out and about in NYC shopping on 5th avenue (I literally got nothing hahaha) but we enjoyed walking around and enjoying Saturday in the city! Anna was dying to go to Zara so we headed there and found some awesome things 🙂 That night I headed to the Rewardstyle party at La Sirena and had the best time! I went with blogger friend, @elleharper and met so many amazing women! I even caught up with the beautiful and extra sweet Caila Quinn.
The party was incredible! We had a 360 degree revolving photo op. at the party (the coolest thing ever!) All of the bloggers and rewardstyle reps are the BEST! I am so thankful and grateful to be in this industry with such amazing women! I also want to say a HUGE ‘Thank You’ to all of you for following along and making this all possible! It is truly because of your alls love and support that makes what we all do possible!
Sunday Anna wanted to go to an awesome little brunch spot, “While We Were Young,” and it was INCREDIBLE! I am not a huge orange juice person, but they had freshly squeezed and it was so amazing! I got that and the chicken and waffles!
The food was so wonderful, but so was the environment! There were gold chairs, pink flowers and marble tables; it was coined an Instagrammers dream and it was! I would totally recommend this little spot if you are in town! This restaurant is also in the middle of some awesome little shopping spots so you can walk off that extra helping of fried chicken 😉
Our trip to NY ended just as quickly as it came and I was glad to head home after a fun weekend! I am linking all of the looks you see here below as well as under the ‘Shop’ Tab on the blog called ‘NYFW Looks’ If you have any sizing questions let me know! Thanks for stopping by!
