Hey guys!! Last week I spent two quick days in Charleston with my sister and sweet photographer and friend Sara Coffin! I wanted to share our quick Charleston trip with you guys in case you were planning a trip soo!
Sunday afternoon we headed down to the beautiful state and arrived to my favorite hotel ever, The Belmond Charleston Place Hotel that evening! Every time I go to Charleston the easiest pat of my trip is planning where to stay because it’s ALWAYS The Belmond! The Belmond, besides location, has everything from top dining at The Charleston Grill or the Palmetto Cafe and incredible shopping and a world class spa to relax!
After you wake up fully relaxed from your amazing night at The Belmond, it’s time for brunch! On this particular trip we tried Poogan’s Porch for the very first time and it was so yummy! They start off the meal with amazingly sweet homemade biscuits that you have to have! We ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes for an appetizer and they were INCREDIBLE!!! There is something about fried green tomatoes in the south and these were to die for! I then had a large fried chicken salad and the fried chicken was battered and fried so golden and crispy and I ate every single piece!
We spent lots of time on Monday shooting Spring outfits on Rainbow Row and I enjoyed every minute! Photoshoots can be exhausting (especially 23 weeks pregnant 😉 ) but every corner in Charleston tells a story and is so beautiful that shooting outfits with Charleston as a back drop is actually fun!
If you have never been to Rainbow Row and The Battery area, it’s a must see! After we shot, we had wind down time at Felix cocktails ( I had a mocktail), but they had the cutest cocktails and location ever! It was such a little speak easy type environment and I loved it! Afterwards we finished up our night at Hanks Seafood! Hanks is one of my all time favorite dinner restaurants in Charleston! If you are a fan of seafood, raw oysters & southern fried food: this is you spot! We started the dinner off with some homemade hushpuppies and I had the grilled salmon with cheese grits!
This trip was definitely more of a work trip, but I always like to share what I do in case you go and want some good options of fun things to do and places to stay! I will be sharing a bunch of my favorite looks from the trip in a blog post very soon, so stay tuned! I have linked all outfit details below!
