Happy Monday ya’ll! Today I wanted to share my TOP skincare items POST baby! I have had NUMEROUS requests for this post so I wanted to share my new routine to help with the post baby ‘bags’ and dry skin from hormonal changes.
During pregnancy my skin really did have a ‘glow’ about it (and it wasn’t just champagne pop 😉 ) I think this was because I was staying SUPER hydrated, not drinking much caffeine and getting lots of sleep in addition to EXTRA good hormones! It’s almost a cruel trick after having a baby because that glow instantly fades and is replaced with drier skin, lack of sleep, dark circles and tired eyes.
During pregnancy I stopped using my Retinol products, I LOVE using a retinol at night but didn’t want to chance anything with the baby so I discontinued use until now and I am loving using it again! At night my TOP moisturizer is the STRIVECTIN Advanced Retinol Intensive Night Moisturizer. This moisturizer is AMAZING!! I have been using it for about 2 years now and love how it rejuvenates my skin at night and aids in faster cell turnover so my skin stays youthful and fresh looking! After only a few nights of using this moisturizer my fine lines start to diminish! This moisturizer is worth the splurge!
If you follow my on Instagram and have seen my recent Instastories, I have been trying a new skincare line that I had heard about online and I am now obsessed: Drunk Elephant. I have started the line with the Vitamin C Serum the C-Firma Day Serum. Vitamin C is essential to healthy glowing skin! It aids in evening out skin tone, firmness and elasticity. This serum works in hours! After one use my skin felt plumper and softer! This serum is $80 and pretty pricey, but you only get one set of skin and Vitamin C is essential in healthy skin. I followed up the Vitamin C Serum with the Protini Polypeptide Creme! This cream is designed to help with dryness, dull skin and uneven skin tone and it has already started making it feel softer and more supple.
One of my ‘SECRET’ weapons for my under eye are these 24K Gold Eye Patches by Peter Thomas Roth! I was so skeptical about these at first and had quite the sticked shock, but after reading a TON of reviews broke down and bought them! I did find them on Amazon HERE for almost $30 cheaper than Sephora! These patches are a game changer for me and nay day that I shoot photos for the blog, I grab these along with my coffee first thing in the morning! Think of these patches as ‘coffee’ for your under eyes; they immediately make you look more awake and alert and diminish the dark circles.
My TOP TIP for good skin is REMOVE YOUR MAKEUP EVERY NIGHT BEFORE BED!!!! Wearing makeup to bed causes so much damage that it can take a week for it to recover; can you imagine multiple nights or weeks of not properly removing makeup? WHEW! Since I was 10 and started using makeup My face wash is nothing fancy, I use CeraVe Foaming Face Cleanser! I LOVE this cleanser because it helps remove my makeup so easy! I used to spend extra money of makeup remover pads because my mascara and eye makeup were hard to remove, but this cleanser is able to remove all of my cosmetics so I have since then stopped purchasing the remover wipes.
That’s about it for my skincare routine. Its super easy. I hope you guys enjoy this post and I hope to have a full post up on my favorite makeup items soon. If you guys are in NC or SC I hope that we will all be safe with Hurricane Florence. Stay tuned this week for an amazing giveaway on Thursday on my Instagram 🙂
