Well.. TODAY I turn 30! I always thought when I would hit this milestone I would somehow feel older or like my life was ending (a tad dramatic I know). However, it is the exact opposite! I don’t know what it is, but I feel like I have a new start! A new decade to really push myself physically, emotionally and be the best version of myself! My 20’s were filled with years of not feeling like I could figure out my purpose and who I was supposed to be! The 20’s were such a transformational time, I loved it, but I also was more unstable (for lack of a better word.) I questioned who I was on many levels and felt like I was pushing my way through life on some days lost without my purpose or direction! I finally feel like I am doing what God has planned for my life! I have loved becoming a mother this past year, it is by far the greatest accomplishment and position I have and I thank God every day for our little miracle! Today I thought it would be fun to share 30 fun facts/ pieces of advice I have learned through the years! So here we go:
- I am a Christian
- I met my husband because he was my brother’s friend in high school (I was 15 he was 18; he was the ONLY BOY I EVER DATED)
- My parents would not allow me to ‘car date’ until I was 16
- I got married to said boyfriend (now husband) when I was 20 and he was 23 (people thought we were crazy, but 10 years later…)
- I have 3 siblings, an older brother, younger sister and brother
- I started my blog 3 1/2 years ago ( I AM SO THANKFUL FOR ALL OF YOU!)
- I have been full-time blogging for 2 years (my grandmother still doesn’t understand what a blog is 🙂 )
- My favorite color is PINK
- I own close to 100 tubes of lipstick (in my defense I started a free-lance makeup career when I was 21 on the side and have done tons of wedding and prom makeup 🙂 )
- I am certified to scuba dive
- I was homecoming queen at my high school; class of 2007
- I went to an all girls college… Meredith College in Raleigh, NC
- I LOVE writing… I have journals from when I was a child that I still go back and read
- I am obsessed with SUGAR (sweets of any kind are my weakness)
- I don’t like carbonation, but the one thing I craved after having a baby was Dt. Dr. Pepper!
- The minute I get home I switch into large comfy pants (typically my husbands pjs)
- I LOVE movies (my idea of the best night is staying in, ordering take-out and watching Netflix)
- I have learned never to take myself too seriously, sometimes things go your way and sometimes they don’t but don’t allow your situation to change your JOY of each day!
- Nothing happens by chance, you HAVE to work for it!
- Work Hard and it will pay off!
- Chase your Dreams because if you don’t someone else will!
- Don’t allow anyone to tell you who you are or what you are capable of, only YOU can do that!
- I am a shoe and handbag addict! (the first step is admitting it 😉 )
- I use Google for answers to everything
- I love going out to eat! (there is just something about being waited on)
- I pretty much only use 3 nail colors all year: FUNNY BUNNY OPI in the spring/summer ; Lincoln Park in the Dark OPI (fall), Big Apple Red OPI (holidays)
- If given the choice between a staple in my closet like a necessary black tee or an EXTRA fun top I always go with the latter! (My sister always points this out 🙂 )
- Comparison is the thief of Joy EVERY TIME!
- I went one year of my life and didn’t eat beef (I felt amazing, but I love a cheeseburger and steak)
- Be YOURSELF & DO YOU! I know this sounds cliche, but really be YOU there is no one better 🙂
I have learned so much more over these last 30 years of life, but I thought it would be so fun just to share 30 things about myself that you may not know! Today I plan to spend the day with my little family at home and just enjoy our time! I also wanted to say THANK YOU to all of you for your continued love and support of the last 3 1/2 years, I honestly never thought I would be doing what I am doing right now and I am so grateful to all of you because you make it possible! I wish you ALL a very MERYY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR! I have a feeling 2019 will be the BEST YET!! Love you each and every one!! XOXO!
