Brayden’s ‘BOO’ Outfit | Girl ‘Boo’ Version of this outfit! | Leopard Sweater (what I am wearing and wearing a small) | Halloween LED Candelabra | Studded Pumpkin | Ghost Platter | Brayden’s Halloween Monogrammed Bag
Happy Wednesday!! Today I have a VERY fun blog post that’s a family friendly DIY that everyone can join in and have a ‘SPOOKY’ good time! This past Saturday I asked the lovely ladies in my family if they wanted to help me make some of my favorite Halloween and Fall treats to share with YOU and of course they said, YES! So, to break it down, we made 4 of my favorite things, a SPOOKY trail mix, haystacks, GHOSTLY great peanut butter cookies and a Spooky Ghost S’mores Skillet! So I am going to share a photo of the dessert and the recipe under each! All of these are FAST, FUN and EASY! I really hope that you enjoy! If you make any of these PLEASE share on your Facebook, Instastory or Instagram and tag me and I would love to share!
SPOOKY Trail Mix (amend as you like or for allergies):
Ingredients:
Rice Chex
Muddybuddies (they are the Chex Mix brand with the chocolate and powdered sugar)
Bugles (they look like witch fingernails 🙂 )
M & Ms – we got the Halloween edition that had fun colors
Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels (sub regular butter pretzels if you prefer)
Popcorn- we did Skinny Pop, but there are so many fun drizzled with chocolate ones if you want a sweeter option or Kettle Corn)
Reese Pieces (MY personal FAVORITE!)
Candy Corn
Candy Pumpkins
Jelly Pumpkins (they are covered in sugar and add fun texture)
Dry Roasted or Salted Cocktail Peanuts
Directions: MIX all of these above and THAT’S IT!
HAYSTACKS (my favorite Fall treat, if you like butterscoth and peanut butter this is for YOU!)
Ingredients:
1 cup Butterscotch Chips
1/2 Cup peanut butter ( I like Jif!)
1/2 cup salted peanuts
2 cups chow mein noodles (these are dry noodles in the international food section in your grocery store with the chinese food)
Wax Paper
Directions:
Melt butterscotch pieces and peanut butter in a glass bowl in the microwave (I melted the butterscotch for about a minute and a half before I added the peanut butter because the peanut butter melts faster! This process took about 3 minutes for my microwave, but check it every 30 seconds because you don’t want to over cook!
Stir in peanuts and noodles gently into the melted peanut butter mixture
Drop ‘stacks’ by forkfuls onto waxed paper, cool until set (about 15 minutes)
Ghostly Nutter Butter Cookies
Ingredients:
Vanilla Almond Bark
Family Size Package of Nutter Butter Cookies
Mini chocolate chips &/or mini M & Ms for eyes
Wax Paper
Directions: We doubled this recipe and did two packages of Nutter Butter Cookies and used one entire package of the Vanilla Almond Bark! Melt the Vanilla Almond Bark per package directions and then just dip half of the nutter butter right into the mixture, place on waxed paper and add the mini chocolate chips, but my mom liked the M&M’s so we did both 🙂 It’s all about compromise, right?!?!
Spooky Ghost S’more’s Skillet
SAVED the most requested recipe for LAST 🙂 and this was soooo good! I would make a FEW amendments so I am going to put those beside what the recipe called for!
Ingredients:
Ghost Peeps (4 packages) – we searched EVERYWHERE for these even my Target did not have them, but my mom found them and CVS and they MADE the look of this!
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or milk chocolate chips ( I would have preferred milk chocolate so it would taste more like a Hershey’s bar, but total personal preference)
Mini Chocolate chips (you have to place these over the already drawn eyes and mouth of the peeps because when you cook it the face will melt)
1/4 c. heavy cream (warmed)
Graham Crackers for serving
Cast Iron Skillet
Directions: Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In the bottom of the pan spread out the chocolate chips and pour over the warmed heavy cream. Cover completely with a single layer of ghost Peeps. Place mini chocolate chips overs eyes and mouth! Bake until the chocolate has melted and the ghosts are golden, 8 to 10 minutes.
Serve warm with graham crackers! The peeps were super gooey so it turned out best for everyone to just ‘dig in’ like it was a dip!
I hope ya’ll loved this GHOULISHLY yummy post as much as I did sharing and making these treats! I have linked all of the decor, platter and outfit details below as well and you just click the item and it will take you right to purchase!
