HAPPY NEW YEAR and NEW DECADE! Out with the Old and In with the NEW! I have spent many hours contemplating and talking to myself about what I wanted this post to sound and look like… I wanted to honor the past, but yet also give HOPE and ENCOURAGEMENT for the FUTURE! If there is one thing I have learned in my 31 years of life it is that LIFE HAPPENS while you are making plans and you ARE NOT guarenteed any minute on this earth so be happy and learn to live in the PRESENT! Having an 18 month old each day I realize how much he has grown and how much he changes from literally DAY TO DAY! I sometimes forget that I myself am also changing DAY TO DAY just like he is! I sometimes look back and wonder how time has passed so quickly and what did I do constructive with that time? This year I have a WORD that I am posting throughout my life so I remember and that word is: INTENTIONAL!
This year I am focusing on a WORD as my yearly motto and that is INTENTION or INTENTIONAL! I am not an organized human being ((just ask any family member or my husband!) I thrive off of a little chaos as crazy as it may seem! My actions often times mimic my thoughts which are constantly bouncing (eg. those clothes need to be washed, oh yikes the dishes have got to be cleaned, I need to film a try-on session, Brayden needs lunch, oops.. I’m out of coffee…) You see what I mean… As those thoughts pop in my head I feel I must immediately take action and chaos surely ensues with every movement I make. So instead of me running my life I allow my ever changing thoughts to run it and you can see how that could get aggravating for others and chaotic for me. So this year I want to be intentional with my TIME overall! I want to think ahead instead of always REACTING!
I want to be INTENTIONAL about my quiet time with CHRIST! I often allow my daily tasks to come in the way of the much needed time I spend with my Savior! That time is time that will help set the tone and pace for my days! I HAVE TO HAVE THAT!
I want to be INTENTIONAL with the TIME I spend with my husband. I want date night to be a priority as well as quality adult time discussing things that affect our household and future.
I want to be INTENTIONAL with BRAYDEN! I want to teach him something new EVERY SINGLE DAY! Now, I know… he’s learning new things every moment, but I want to actually sit down and TEACH him something new each day! I think we will start with animals since he loves those! I also don’t want him to always see me attached to a phone (TOTALLY GUILTY of always having it).
I want to be INTENTIONAL with our finances. As Brayden grows older and hopefully if we are able to have another child I want to save money for their future wants/desires/needs.
I want to be INTENTIONAL about my social media consumption. I spend FAR too much time on my phone looking at what others are doing and feeling like I have to somehow ‘keep up’ and this year I want to give myself more grace and live in the moment!
I want to be INTENTIONAL about the content I produce…. is this post/video helpful?! I love posting an ootd picture just like most other bloggers, but this year I also want to ask myself the question… ‘Is this content or post benefitting someone?’ This will hopefully allow me to create more meaningful content that YOU will want to read and see! Whether it be an amazing sale alert, baby update, makeup tutorial or whatever that post may look like I need you all to help give me ideas of what you want to see, so ALWAYS feel free to DM me!
These are just a few of the things I want to be INTENTIONAL about! Time in nonrefundable so we must use it with INTENTION! This 2020 I am so excited for the possibility of a FRESH, CLEAN new start of a YEAR and DECADE! I am so beyond words grateful and thankful to EACH OF YOU for allowing me to do what I do each and every day! I have been blogging now for 5 + years and the love and support from YOU is what drives me daily! Thank you and CHEERS to the best of INTENTIONS in 2020, MAY IT BE THE BEST YEAR YET!
