Happy Monday! Today I am doing a much requested beauty post on my summer glow makeup routine! I have added some fun new products to refresh my skin and face for the warmer and more humid (here in NC at least) months! In the summer I tend to lean toward neutral shades with a little extra highlight and glow to make my skin look more radiant in the sunshine! Who doesn’t want to look like they just have a ‘glow’ about them?! Today I am dishing on my tried and true products with Nordstrom that you will fall in love with and want to reach for every day!
Good Skin Begins with Skincare:
Fun Fact: My grandmother owned a beauty salon so I grew up with skincare as a MAJOR PRIORITY! I started wearing face creams and lotions as 12 years old and I have NEVER gone to bed with my makeup on (thank you mom and grandma!) I love to test out and try moisturizers, serums and more and I recently starting trying a new one that I am absolutely in love with!
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream – this moisturizer and formula are fantastic! I use various moisturizers, but in the summer my skin gets dry from being in pools and in the wind at the beach and this moisturizer helps repair my skin at night! It has a little extra moisture and a thicker formula that makes my skin feel plump and full after I wake up in the morning!
MY HOLLYDAY FAVORITES FROM NORDSTROM:
My ALL time favorite foundation is the Estee Lauder Double Wear! This foundation is a full coverage formula and it makes skin look flawless! I use the shade DAWN! I apply my foundation with a damp Beauty Blender and LOVE IT!
In the summer a dewy glowy primer sets the tone for a shimmery skin look and the Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow Face Primer is one of the best! It gives your skin a beautiful shimmer with nothing else on your skin! It can be used underneath foundation, over top of foundation or in the place of foundation and it’s GORGEOUS!
A setting powder for your entire face is ESSENTIAL and I have one that I have used for at least 5 years and always love it and it is the Laura Mercier Translucent powder! I use this to set my foundation and concealer and it keeps makeup from ‘sliding’ off your face and creasing!
After my translucent powder I like to add MAC mineralize skinfinish powder to add color back to my skin and it gives a light coverage! I am shade medium tan!
As far as adding color and dimension to my face I am obsessed with the brand, CHARLOTTE TILBURY! I had heard so many people RAVE about her products and I finally decided to try a few and WOW! She truly has perfected shades for every skin tone and her products are LONG LASTING & WORTH the splurge!
The cheek color that I have been wearing all spring and going into summer is the Cheek to Chic blush in shade ecstasy! This blush has two tones a more pink in the middle and a shimmer almost peachy tone around the rim with added shimmer and when you mix the two together and put them on your cheeks, BAM! It’s amazing! My mom was recently getting ready with me and made me put it on her it was THAT GOOD!
I then also go in and contour and highlight my cheeks with the CHARLOTTE TILBURY Filmstar Bronze & Glow Duo Set. The bronze is the perfect natural shade to add dimension along your natural cheekbone line and the highlight has a mixture of pearl and gold hints that are perfection when they hit the light!
EYES ARE THE WINDOWS TO THE SOUL:
Eyes truly make a look to me and the Urban Decay Naked Honey palette has all the natural neutrals in it that give me all the summer feels! I fell in love with this palette last Fall and reach for it 9/10 times getting ready in the morning year around! There are 12 different shades you can play with to create a very simple neutral look or warmer/deeper tones for a more seductive look for night-out! HIGHLY recommend this palette!
I am a major WINGED EYELINER fan and I recently started using the CHARLOTTE TILBURY feline flick V2 eyeliner in black and the felt tip is PERFECTION for getting that perfect little winged ‘flick!’ If you have been wanting to try a winged eyeliner this one is great for beginners!
Brows.. Brows… Brows
Brows are the new IT TREND, AM I RIGHT?!? Some people want super bushy, some want lots of arch and others want natural! I am somewhere in the middle of all of this wanting natural style brows with a slight arch, but that still look natural! I love Anastasia Beverly Hills for my brows and I love the Brow Wiz, I use shade medium brown! I then go in and ‘set’ them with the Anastasia Clear Brow Gel which keeps my brows in place and from smearing or running down my face when I am swimming in the pool or on the beach sweating!
Lashes… Lashes…Lashes
I would bet if you asked about any woman what her MUST HAVE beauty item would be if she could only pick one it would be MASCARA! I know that’s true for me đ Something else I have realized is all women has a HOLY GRAIL mascara combo! Over the past year I have reached for one and only mascara and it is the TOO FACED BETTER THAN SEX! It has the ability to length and make lashes look more voluminous all in one swoop! I put about 5-6 coats on my lashes and they look incredible! It got its name for a reason đ
Neutral Natural Lip are a VIBE for Summer:
About a year ago I discovered the Charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk Lipstick shade at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and it was a GAME CHANGER for a year around neutral lip! It is a neutral that is not too light, not too dark and is great any time of year! To me, it has the perfect blend of brown and pink without being too much one or the other! I love the lip combo of MAC lipliner in shade SOAR with the Charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk lipstick and pillowtalk gloss!
