Wow! This post is LONG overdue and one of my MOST requested and I know why… shopping for baby gear/items as a new mom is INTIMIDATING!! There are so many gidgets and gadgets on the market and EVERYONE has an opinion on what is best… I am here to say that my experience and list are NOT all inclusive and by any means the HOLY GRAIL of lists, but I did think that after having two babies and pretty much using the same items for both babies I can at least share what has worked for me! I also want to quickly say that everyone is doing and trying their best as a mom so give them and yourself GRACE! I have had so many different struggles a s mom from not being able to naturally breastfeed my son to wanting to stop pumping, but then feeling guilty for that as well that I just want to say that YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO as long as your baby is happy and healthy!
I hope today’s post is helpful to some of you and I would love to know some of your favorite products as well, so always feel free to shoot me a DM and we can chat (that’s what I love the most about this community!) I have tried to break down my registry must haves by category to help you!
Feeding:
Spectra S2 Pump – I got mine through insurance for FREE (just call the number on the back of your card and ask them if you get one with your plan) – this pump expresses milk incredible and I use it morning and night when I have an over supply of milk from stretching the time between feeds – I LOVE these Medela Milk Storage Bags to put my pumped milk into, they hold up great, have a wonderful thickness and don’t fall over!
Willow Portable Breast Pump – portable pump I use during the day when I am on the go and pour right into a bottle – Livy is drinking anywhere from 3 – 4oz. of milk per feeding right now and she is 2 months old – I have also heard amazing things about the Elvie pump… worth checking out as well π
Como Tomo Bottles – these are the BEST bottles! I used with both children! I am using the infant ones with slow flow nipple right now and then will upgrade her to the next size as she grows!
Milk Snob – a great multi-purpose cover to put over car seat to protect baby and then take off and use to cover up yourself while you nurse in public!
Best Nursing Bras – these come as a pack from Amazon and the only bra’s I wear right now!
Aden + Anais Muslin Blankets ( I use these a burp clothes and as covers over the car seat when we go out sometimes! & Burp Clothes are my favorite! I use these all the time and they have the best designs and shapes! I love the thickness of the fabric and they are large enough to cover your entire shoulder π
Bumbo Seat – Love this device for when baby starts to sit up as a chair to help with them sitting as well as with the tray to start learning to eat! This is also easy to transport if you are going somewhere as a high chair replacement!
4moms high chair – this is for when your baby gets bigger but I put it on my registry and we LOVE it! I love the sleek design and it comes with magnetic dishes that are not easily pushed off the tray!
Sleep:
Halo Bassinest – Livy sleeps in this bassinet beside my bed in a Dock – a – tot
Dock – a tot Deluxe – this is worth the money and I used with both children and just purchased a new cover! Great investment!
Blythe Crib – this is the crib we have had for Brayden and Livy! Brayden still uses it as a toddler bed, but we just purchased him a new one!
Swaddle Me Swaddles – Livy hates getting in this, but after about 15 minutes of rocking her she goes to sleep and sleeps good!
Pacifiers – EVERY baby is different…. Brayden took the Avent ones and Livy will only hold a MAM paci in her mouth for like a few minutes… one MAJOR difference I can say is Brayden was primarily bottle fed breast milk that was pumped so he was not used to a natural breast shape in his mouth and Livy started out only breastfeeding naturally for almost her first month of life so that may be why they take certain ones ?! I have also heard Nuk is great for breastfed babies! Tip: BUY ONE BUY ALL π
We love these paci clips!
Dohm Sound Machine – we have one of these in almost every bedroom in the house now, we are OBSESSED! Worth every penny! I even have this tiny travel one!
Changing Time:
Fabric Changing Mat/Quilt – this is fabric and this style is what I use/keep in my den during the day to change Livy
Keekaroo – best wipeable changing pad I have in the bathroom that I will eventually change Livy on and what I still use for Brayden
Bubula Diaper Pail – we love this! We get our trash picked up once a week and this helps keeps our home from smelliing!
As far as diapers we love Pampers!
Bath Time:
Infant Bath Support Tub – great support and I have bathed Livy in it in our tub since week 2
Noodle & Boo Infant Body & Hair Wash – we love the lavender fragrance
Activity:
Baby Bjourn Bouncer – worth EVERY Penny
Boppy Lounger – great for easy movement through the house to lay baby
Transportation:
Nuna Pipa Lite Infant Car Seat – only weighs 5 lbs. and easy to carry/lift in and out of the vehicle for women like me π
Nuna Rava toddler car seat – I put both on my registry
Nuna Travel Stroller System (comes with the Pipa Lite carseat) – my husband wanted his own stroller and he purchased this with our first child, Brayden and I ended up taking it over and it’s the stroller I use 90% of the time
Uppababy Vista -used this as my primary stroller with Brayden and have not used it yet as a double stroller, Brayden also loved it with the toddler seat and there is lots of storage space in the bottom for shopping… I love both this stroller and the Nuna travel stroller above for different reasons!
Baby Bjorn baby carrier – don’t have this yet, but I am ordering! We love their bouncer so much I think this will be great!
Boppy Comfyfit infant carrier (great price) – this is an easy infant carrier and what I had with Brayden and it works good for Livy!
Fawn Design Diaper Bag – this is the diaper bag I have used for both kids primariy!
First Aid / Health:
This is a pretty caddy to keep all our supplies in!
Thermometer – Dual Scan & Rectal
Gripe Water – we used this lots with Brayden, I have not given it to Livy yet
Infant Tylenol
LAST and NOT LEAST! Lots of LOVE! Really and truthfully only a time portion of these items are essential and your time and love are what baby really needs! I have linked all of these items below for you to shop as well! Please let me know if you have any questions!
