Happy Wednesday! Today I am so excited to share a fun blog post about a fun couples trip my husband and I recently attended to Primland Resort in Meadows of Dan, Virginia. The resort is about 2 hours and 45 minutes north of Wake Forest/ Raleigh and such an easy and beautiful drive! If you are looking for a fun Fall trip (or anytime), Primland would be the perfect place to stay in October and experience the Fall foliage as it is right off the Blue Ridge Parkway! The resort is beautiful and has so many fun things to do on your stay. Writing this post I wanted to make it easy to read so I am going to share some questions I had about the resort and answer them from my own personal experience.

How were the accomodations?
We stayed in our own private cabin named the Whitetail. The view was breathtaking and it was so peaceful and serene and close to the main lodge. We loved having our own little spot in the woods; it reminded me so much of Snow White and felt very fairytale.
There were lots of cabins to chose from when you book, real life tree houses or you could stay in the main lodge.
Here is a link to their site with all accomodations.
Is this resort kid/friendly?
This was my #1 question and I have to say there were very few children on our stay and the ones that were there were definitely older maybe 8 and older. The restaurants on the property seemed mostly for adults/ older children with the exception of the Saloon which I think children would enjoy. In my personal opinion it is more of an adult trip or a trip with older children who could enjoy the experiences.

What can you do on the property?
There were lots of things to do! We rode RTV’s and had a BLAST, we got see some amazing views!
Private Wine Tasting – we did this and it was first class! The wine cellar was so beautiful and relaxing and all the wines were wonderful.
Spa – we all got massages and the spa had a pool and jacuzzi to enjoy during your stay- this was one of my personal favorite experiences 🙂
Golf! There is a beautiful course right by the main lodge
Hiking trails
Archery

Tell me about the food!
Here is a link to Primland’s website with all of their food options!
ALL of the food was amazing! We ate the 1st night at their 19th Pub and there were no reservations required first come first serve! The menu was exceptional from burgers and wings to deviled eggs and pimento cheese! The drinks and food were exceptional!
Elements is the fine dining experience on the property! Picture fires burning in a dark environment with a glass of wine and a steak. This night we went with a crab cake app and all of us had steak entrees – pure heaven in your mouth!
Stables Saloon is such a fun spot! This was a place to take your friends and have a good time! There is live music with endless amounts of down home cooking! The food is served family style picture beef brisket, fried chicken, pork with tons of sides like buttery yeast rolls and cornbread to macaroni, potatoes and brussle sprouts. After you eat your fill there are fun desserts like homemade cupcakes, blueberry cobbler and more. This is a place you want to BRING YOUR APPETITE!

How are the surrounding areas?
We left Primland Resort and went to two wineries on Saturday that were so fun! One was very Italian feeling called Villa Appalaccia and the other was a beautiful winery called Chateau Morrisette. We enjoyed both wineries and they were so close to Primland right off the Blue Ridge Parkway.
We also ate lunch at a quaint local restaurant Jane’s Country Cafe on the day we traveled to the wineries and had the best chicken salad sandwiches and onion rings. Jane’s had all the down home southern cooking on the menu and homemade pies as well if you are looking for.a delicious local stop.
Nancy’s Candy Company is also a fun place to stop right outside of Primland or if you are wanting a treat while traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway! Nancy’s is a local candy factory that makes their own homemade truffles, fudge and more! We went home with truffles (get the peanut butter if you liked peanut butter it was amazing), two big bars of fudge and lots of treats to take home to the kids! It’s a must stop if you have time!
A long weekend at serene Primland was just what this mommy and daddy needed to recharge. We both left wanting to come back very soon and both HIGHLY recommend!
