Happy Thursday! So this week Brian and I spent two days at The Glamping Collective in Clyde, NC (right outside of Asheville 15-20 minutes). I originally saw this amazing spot on Instagram and I was intrigued, Was it as good as it looked in photos?!?! Well… it was better! I went online and booked a luxe dome at the property on a whim for a fast two-day stay and I am so glad that I did (and so is Brian)! Before my review if you are a parent can I just say, TAKE THE TWO DAY TRIP (or more 🙂 ) It’s amazing what 48 hours can do for your energy, mind and relationship! Ok, so now that the pep talk is out of the way let’s get to why you are here… HOW WAS GLAMPING?!?!? I wanted to divide this post into my top questions in this post for exact answers HERE IS A LINK TO THE GLAMPING COLLECTIVE (they probably do a better job with photos and answers 😉
WHAT IS A GEO DOME?!?!
Ok, so I am still not sure how to exactly answer this one (I’m not an engineer :), but basically a metal frame dome with a rubber membrane or cover!
Was there A/C/Heat?
YES!! The dome held heat in good at night too! We were impressed!
Was there a BATHROOM?!?!?! (#1 QUESTION!)
ABSOLUTELY! I would not have gone had I not had a shower and toilet 🙂
DID YOU HAVE WIFI?
YES! You can be as ‘plugged’ or ‘unplugged’ as possible!
DID YOU HAVE A TV?
NO! We are so glad we didn’t, but you can always stream your favorite shows to your laptop if you need over WIFI!
WAS the bed comfy?
YES! We had a luxurious king size bed and it slept amazing!
DID YOU HAVE A KITCHEN?
Yes!! We had a kitchen, keurig, plates/cupes, utensils and more! You can totally cook on the property there was a grill at the group “campsite” that came with each grouping of Domes (so basically roughly 5 or 6 domes shared a beautiful seating area with a grill!
Was there a refrigerator/microwave?
Yes to refrigerator no to microwave
CAN I BRING MY PET?
We did not have to run into this, but the site says yes, you just pay an additional fee!
How far are Restaurants/Food
At the bottom of the mountain (maybe an 8 minute drive) was a town with grocery store, Starbucks, fave fast food spots and more! Asheville is a 20 minute drive to downtown and such an easy drive!
Would you recommend taking kids?
The Luxe Domes are made for 2 adults, I think you could take one smaller child definitely n infant but otherwise it would be too crowded!
Where there hiking trails?
YES! The property was stunning!
Did you feel cramped?
Absolutely NOT!
We had a hot tub and a firepit on out attached deck!
A few things we wished we had brought or would suggest packing:
Sound machine
Water (I brought a case of Dasani)
Snacks/food (you could totally bring lunch stuff like sandwiches and eat right there)
Bluetooth speaker for music
Extra bath cloths if you like multiple (we only had one)
Swimsuit/beach towel (the luxe domes have a hot tub)
To sum today’s post up we HIGHLY recommend GLAMPING at THE GLAMPING COLLECTIVE! We left feeling relaxed and hoping to come back one day very soon!
