“We’re going to the chapel and we’re gonna get married…” Ok, maybe not the chapel, but the Merrimon Wynne Carriage House! This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend the grand opening of Wedding venue, The Merrimon Wynne’s new addition, “The Carriage House!” To say I was impressed is SUCH an understatement!If you are from North Carolina or are looking for a beautiful fun venue, The Merrimon Wynne House may be it! Last Friday night, I had the pleasure of checking out the new addition to the House, “The Carriage House.”  This addition is a large covered building with a dance floor, beautiful chandeliers and breezeway!  Check out these photos from the Maurer Architecture blog who constructed the amazing building!  The night was perfect filled with real life woman as centerpieces (pictured below), florals covering every corner, finger food and drinks for everyone!  There was even a gelato bar! The night was picturesque (although I don’t have many due to it being dark :() but it was wonderful.  I took my sister as my date and she is seriously debating switching her wedding venue because it’s THAT AMAZING!

When deciding what to wear I opted to Rent The Runway!  This is almost embarrassing to admit, but this is my very first Rent the Runway experience and I am HOOKED! Rent the Runway, for those who are like me and “fashionably late”, is where you can go to “rent” designer dresses/gowns at a small fraction of the cost for a special event! I knew this event was cocktail attire and instead of going to buy a new dress, I decided to rent this amazing Rachel Zoe Rouge Suzette Dress that retails for $395 and I rented it for 4 days for $70.

 

This dress has the most perfect lace hemline, is form fitting, but in all the right places. I love how the sleeve is not fitted, but that it covers that little area that all women hate (we all know that little bit fat we can never tone at our arm pit ;/)  This dress is so flirty, dainty and sexy at the same time! It truly pained me to have to send it back.  Rent the Runway  is definitely going to be my go-to for all the weddings I have coming up this Spring and Summer! I paired my dress with my Valentino Rockstuds.  I paired it with my Yves Saint Laurent chain bag, but I have linked a similar one by Rebecca Minkoff here.
