Happy New Year everyone! Today I wanted to share some of my New Year’s favorites when it comes to MAKEUP!!! I have been sharing a few of my favorite products on Instastory, but I wanted to get an easy shopping guide for you all!
I was a Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation advocate for YEARS!!!! I still love Tarte,but I have been cheating on it with probably my new favorite foundation; Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation! About 4 years ago I attended a makeup class with Brittany Aldean and she was raving over this foundation, but at the time I was just not ready to switch…. WELL…. I wish I had because this foundation is EVERYTHING! I always wondered why all my favorite makeup artists and bloggers raved about this foundation and now I am on the band wagon! This foundation is one I would recommend going to an actual Estee Lauder counter to get color matched because they have a device to match you perfect and it’s worth the drive to your nearest location! I am the color ‘Dawn’ if some of you don’t have an Estee Lauder near and have a yellow undertone and slightly tanner skin! I love the full coverage of this foundation and I also love that is a liquid that sets as a powder! During the winter we are all drier and a liquid foundation really helps keep the moisture in the skin too! I apply my foundation with a damp beauty blender!
The second item I have been loving and getting many questions on is my felt tip liquid eyeliner! I love a cat eye and ‘wing’ out my eyeliner daily! MAC used to make a felt tip liner called Rapid Black and I was OBSESSED, they then changed and updated the formula and felt tip and it is now called the ‘Brushblack Liner!’ I am not a fan of change, but after a few weeks I was addicted to the new design and formula! This felt tip is thin enough that you can create the perfect little or dramatic wing! This eyeliner comes in two shades I think, but I only prefer the black! If you all are looking or a smooth perfect line to wing or not to wing, this is the eyeliner for you!
The third item I have worn out is the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette! This palette is HANDS DOWN my favorites of all the Nakeds! I was talking to my mom about this palette over Christmas and she was intimidated at the tones at first because they are neutrals that have warm and orange undertones, but DON’T BE SCARED by this they are Perfect! My idea of the perfect eyeshadow palette is one that has long wearing, blendable and neutral shades and this palette has all of them!
The fourth item is one ANYONE can wear or use and it’s soooo fun! It’s the Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow! This is a product that you literally ‘paint’ onto your eyelid and it leaves a glitter that can be seen all day! I love a little extra glitter and glow and this shadow is sooooo easy! It literally is applied with an applicator that looks like a lipgloss applicator and you just paint it across the lids and it stays put all day! The color I have is called ‘Kitten Karma’ and it has hints of rose gold and champagne and is warm, but blends well with all of my shadows! I would love to try the more gold and also the silver with different eyeshadows to see how they work, but ‘Kitten Karma’ is a shade that will look good on any skin tone!
The fifth ‘holy grail product I love is the Tarte Shape Tape concealer! I have mentioned this is beauty posts back, but it truly is a product I use daily whether I am running out of the house with just a little concealer, foundation and mascara or a FULL face with eyeshadow and lashes! I use the shape tape before my foundation and after my foundation to really brighten the under eye! I have found being pregnant my dark circles are a little extra dark in the morning than normal so I need a little extra help to look ‘bright eyed!’
The sixth product is the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector! This product gives your skin that extra GLOW especially during this DRY SEASON! I use this product in addition to my YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer before I apply anything else to my face and it gives my skin a dewy beautiful glow even before I apply foundation! I apply both primers with my fingers and about half a pump of the Becca covers my whole face so a little goes a LONG WAY! This is a product you don’t have to use daily, but if you want extra dewy skin and a little extra ‘glow’ definitely apply! I use the color ‘OPAL!’
